WhatsApp webhooks for developers: receiving messages on your server
How webhooks deliver incoming messages and delivery receipts, and how to verify them securely.
A webhook is a URL on your server that receives an HTTP POST whenever something happens — a customer sends a message, or a message you sent is delivered or read.
Events you can receive from Wapify
- message.received — a customer wrote to you
- message.status — sent, delivered, read or failed
Best practices
- Verify the signature header with your signing secret before trusting a request.
- Reject requests older than five minutes to stop replays.
- Respond with 2xx quickly and do slow work in a background job.
- Make handlers idempotent; a retried event should not create duplicates.
Get started
Add your endpoint under API & Webhooks in the dashboard. The API docs include a complete Node.js verification example.
